Launderette

Launderette
The poem is all about mood or atmosphere ( dark shoves ) and each stanza describes something or someone. Dark mood, Positive mood,
My Chosen Stanza

The dour man does for himself. Before him,
Half lost, his small possessions swim
Cast off, random
They nose and nudge the porthole glass like floatsam.

In the last stanza it explains that The man is really poor because "half lost" and "cast off" mean that there is more water then anything else in the washing machine. "Small" also shows that he does not have a lot of "possessions", or clothes. The man is dour because he is poor. The last stanza symbolizes sadness.
